Inter Lions Cricket blut - Won by 50 runs
After the first game of the season being washed out the Aliens were thirsting for some cricket , and took to the field with confidence and high spirits. The opening pair of Damon Crawford and Tariq Omar treated us to a display of fine fast bowling. Damon , who bowled a textbook , tight and controlled line troubled all the lions batsmen and as usual he did not take as many wickets as he deserved , he finished his spell with 1 - 15 . In contrast Tariq bowled a fast and aggresive spell . Against a strong cold head wind he still managed to be unplayable by the Lions batsmen who fell to his vicious bouncers and smart bowling , he finished with a well earned 5 - 20. All the Aliens bowlers bowled well and we were inspired in the field , dismissing The opposition for an easily attainable 134 runs of 25 overs .
Unfortunately as good as we were in the field , we were as bad with the bat , none of our batsmen making any sort of an innings against what is probably the weakest of bowling attacks we will face this season . We were dismissed for 84, 50 runs short of our target .The only high point of the Aliens innings was Gavins 18 run stand that was cut short after being hit in the gnads by one that cut back in and left him in no condition to bat any longer. Hopefully we will come back stronger next game and show our opposition what we are capable of.
